It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Ryan of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Marie; sons Marcel (Judy), St. Barbe, James Jr., (Patricia), Lloydminister, Alberta, William, Brampton, Ontario, and Darren (Pamela), Port au Choix; daughters Jocelyn (Kevin), Port au Choix, Paula (Michael), St. Anthony, and Vanessa (Dale), Hawkes Bay; grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Jimmy, Colin, Cody, Shawn, Chantelle, Lacey, Chelsea, Nicholas, Sarah, and Hannah; great-grandchildren Jonathan, and Keegan; brothers Clarence, Kevin, John, and Brendan; sister Philomena, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Elsie, brothers William, Michael, Austin and sister Sophia. The family received friends at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders, Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
