William John (Bill) Jamieson

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at Toronto General Hospital on Sunday, February 6, 2011, while waiting for another lung transplant, William John Jamieson, age 55 years. Predeceased by his parents Joan and Edward Jamieson and mother-in-law Viola Kean. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Debbie (Kean); children Steve, Joan-Marie (Jared), Michelle (Steve) and Phillip; brothers Edward and James (Cheryl) and sister Bernice; as well as many nieces and nephews; father-in-law Robert Kean; sisters-in-law Donna Maloney (Dennis) and Janice Fitzgerald (Eddie); brothers-in-law Robert Kean and Paul Kean; step-mother Joan Jamieson (Dinn) and the Dinn Family; special friends Eric & Barb Kean, Dave & Tish Cowan, Brian & Barb Wall, Gerard and Brenda Coombs, Ian & Carol O’Brien, Bob & Cheryl King and Jim Rickert; as well as a large number of relatives and friends. Thank you to the Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association for their continued support, the Ambulatory Treatment Program at the Health Sciences Centre and the Toronto General Hospital for their unending care and compassion. Special thanks to the nurses who Bill dearly loved. Special thanks to Bill’s cousin Ann Marie Hancock and family for their love and support. Bill was an amazing husband, father, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by so many. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 12 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Peter’s Church, Mount Pearl. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Bill was a strong advocate for organ donation and encourages everyone to seriously consider organ donation. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Newfoundland Lung Association.
