Passed peacefully away on February 8, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends, after a courageous battle with breast cancer at the age of 59. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Iris Dillon, her sister Lorraine and brother Jerry. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving husband of 40 years, Philip Johnson; her children: Shawn (Aimee Kaye) and Reni Pelley (Jared); her brother Kevin (Alma); ten sisters: Edna Maddicks (John), Verna Learning (Fred), Debbie Constantine (Boyd), Connie Fitzgerald (Bill), Yvonne Dillon, Ruby Morse (Jim), Mamie Galina (Tony), Bunny (Chuck Worsham), Rose Walker (Doug), Carol Heishman; special niece Jaime Spurrell as well as the Johnson family and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Joy McCarthy, Dr. Kara Laing and Scott Edwards of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and Dr. Al Felix and his team at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, as well as the nursing staff of 4 North A at the Health Sciences Centre for their excellent patient care. Brenda will be resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Teresa’s Parish on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. Cremation to follow.
