Benoit's Cove
April 30th, 1943 - February 12th, 2011

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Geraldine Mary Hickey announce her passing on Saturday, February 12th, 2011 at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s at the age of 67 years. A devoted wife of 50 years to the love of her life, husband Oscar; the best mother anyone could ever wish for to her six children: Brenda (Gary), Karen (Mike), Madonna (Brendon), Lisa (Wayne) Peggy (Rick), and one son Tony (Sandra). Geraldine also bragged of her greatest treasures, her 11 grandchildren; Sabrina, Ashley, Crystal, Jordan, Bradley, Craig, Matthew, Jessica, Nikki, Ryan and Jamie; as well as her three great grandkids; Hayley, Logan and Makinna. She was predeceased by her mother, Blanche and father Thomas Park, 2004. She is survived by her three brothers: Kevin (Patsy), Gary (Karen) and Richard (Cathy); three sisters: Gladys, Evelyn (Tony) and Bonnie, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews, and a wonderful circle of friends that loved her. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 16th at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Benoits Cove, Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or Our Lady Star of the Sea.
