BRIAN PAUL (COWBOY) BAKER

BRIAN PAUL (COWBOY) BAKER

Born In: Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada

Passed in: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: January 18th, 2011

July 1953 ~ January 2011

After a three year battle with multiple myeloma Brian transitioned January 18th at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Brian was born in Thunder Bay Ontario and spent most of his life in Ontario before moving to Kamloops many years ago.

Brian was a one of a kind person, larger than life, a character, a free Spirit; he really did have things to do, places to go and people to see! Brian liked to connect with people and liked to help people connect with each other. He thought nothing of driving 50-100 kilometres out of his way if it meant he could have a visit with a friend or family member.

Brian's life philosophy was "Strangers are only friends you have not met yet." He opened his heart and offered his friendship to anyone who was within his reach. He was always a good friend, always fought for the underdog and always did his best to do what was right.
Brian sailed the Great Lakes for 27 years (Upper Lakes Shipping) and it was a lifestyle that suited his personality; while working he was traveling, seeing new things and places. Time off meant the same thing for him: travel, meet new people, see new places and experience new things. In the early days travel meant hopping on a plane to see exotic places, as he matured he loved to get in his motorhome and head to the Kootenays enjoying nature and the hot springs.

Brian is survived by his parents, Eleanor and Charles Baker (Knutsford, B.C.), brother Larry, and sister Barbara, both of Kamloops.

Predeceased by his youngest brother Charles Baker.
Brian will be missed by his niece Jocelyn and nephew Matthew, both of Thunder Bay, Ontario, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends throughout Canada.
Family and friends will miss Brian's fun loving nature, jokes, and stories.

Many thanks to Dr. Howie, the health care providers in Royal Inland Hospital, Ponderosa, Kamloops Hospice and Overlander Extended Care. A special thank you to Susan and Yvonne who helped make Brian's last two years enjoyable.

At Brian's request there will be no service.
Cremation has taken place at Personal Alternative Funeral Services.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Kamloops Hospice would be appreciated.
