It is with great sadness that the family of Ida Scott announces her passing at White Rapids Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 at the age of 86. Born in Tracyville, NB on September 2nd, 1924 she was the wife of the late Frank R. Scott. Ida leaves behind her children, Beverly Nason (Philip) and Lori Bigger (John) of Fredericton Junction and Frank Scott (Brenda) of Halifax; grandchildren, Jeffrey Waugh (Sylvia) of Fredericton Junction, Janike Waugh (Gerry) of PEI, Ashley Scott and Kiefer Scott of Halifax, Christy Borgald (Brad) of Fredericton and Jeremy Bigger (Samantha) of NL; three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; brother, Trevor Mersereau; sisters, Dorothy Phillips (Noel) and Ruth Lindfors (Robert); sisters-in-law; Eileen, Alice and Pearl Mersereau; special cousin, Helen Kendrick and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Frank, Ida was predeceased by her parents, Winslow and Freda (Noble) Mersereau; brothers, Raymond, Vernon, Hilton and Glenwood Mersereau and sisters, Donna Hoyt and Judy Beers; and sister-in-law, Lois Mersereau. Ida spent the entirety of her career at the Burton Courthouse as Registrar of Deeds for Sunbury Co. and was an active member of the Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church, serving as the clerk there for many years.
Visitation will take place at the Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church, 100 Horseman Road, on Monday, February 28th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at the church on Tuesday, March 1st at 3 pm with Rev. Jim Harrison officiating.
