Agnes Marguerite Logan, age 86 of the Hatzel Care Home of Prince Albert passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital on Monday January 31, 2011. Service of Remembrance will be held at Calvary United Church, 114 – 25 Street East on Monday, February 28 at 10:00 am. The Reverend Nora Vedress will officiate. Agnes was born in the Davis District on August 1, 1924 to James and Virginia Baird, the 5th of 11 children. Agnes met Allie Logan at a baseball game and on May 4, 1949 they were married and they celebrated 43 years together. They raised 6 children who gave them 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: Jim and Gail (Paxman) of Christopher Lake, SK, Jimmette (Ryan) Cossette, Carter and Jacob of La Ronge, SK, Dan Logan, Daniel and Kamryn of Rural Prince Albert; Darlene and Al Patenaude of Regina, SK, Marc of Baton Rouge, LA, Michelle (Tony) Stroppa of New Westminster BC; John and Karla (Walls) of Saskatoon, SK, Jonah and (Kristin) Noah and Joshua of Rural Saskatoon, SK; Jake and(Shelley) Logan and Emily of Regina, SK; Don (deceased) and Kim (Fagrie) of Prince Albert, Tammara and (Trevor) Dumont and Trent and Taryn and Taylor of rural Prince Albert; Shaunnah and (Malvin) Litwin and Owen and Grayson of Prince Albert; Kyla Logan and(Terry) of rural Prince Albert; Dana Logan and (Richard) of Prince Albert; Dianne and Tony Caissie of Melfort, SK, Jeremy and (Jill) of Saskatoon, SK; Adam of Whitehorse, Yukon; Scott and Susan (Ritchie) and Sarah, Savanah, and Sierrah of Pierceland, SK. Agnes also took care of other children and the house was always open to all the kids’ friends, always a spare plate at the table or a bed to sleep in. Agnes was a people person and she enjoyed volunteering, she worked the canteen at the East Hill Community Club in the early years. She sold tickets and Poppies for the Legion also worked Teas and Lunches with the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She worked the Fish Fry’s and Teas and Bingo for the Northside Seniors Club. Agnes volunteered to do Meals on Wheels with her good friend Sally; Agnes worked Teas and Bake Sales with the Calvary United Church Women. When Agnes wasn’t volunteering you would find her with her friends going from one Tea and Bake Sale to another, or playing Bridge with her friends in the Bridge Clubs, or carpet bowling and playing cards with the Christopher Lake Seniors Club. She enjoyed being busy with her friends and family or talking on the phone. Yes, Mom loved her Phone! We will always remember her positive attitude and the happiness she brought to so many, and that smile right up to the last. Mom’s brothers and sisters: Winona and Carl Pollock (both deceased), Austin and Ellen Baird of Port Alberni, BC, Stewart and Bea Baird of Maple Ridge, BC, Evelyn and Red Greenwald (both deceased), Leo and Doreen (deceased) Baird of Saskatoon, SK, Gerald Baird (deceased), Alvin and Lil Baird of Coquitlam, BC, Jessie and Willis Pinkney (both deceased), Sylvia (deceased) and Charlie Lang of Davidson SK, Marie and Jack Heffernan of Outlook, SK.
