Neil Robert ‘Bob’ Bennett, 59, of East River, passed away at home with his family by his side on Feb. 27, 2011.
Born in Sydney, N.S., Bob was the son of the late Neil Gregory and Mary Teresa (Antle) Bennett. Bob was an avid golfer with a passion for reading and music. He dedicated himself to public service for over 30 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Kelley (Mark) Santos, Pouch Cove, Nfld., Amy (Philip) Bain, Porters Lake, N.S. and Megan (Steve) Jones, Nictaux, N.S.; grandchildren, Isaiah and Anna Santos, Abbie and Molly Bain and Jamieson Jones; sisters, Lorraine (Norman) MacDonald, Wendy Bennett, Patricia (Leonard) Smith.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Service to be held on Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at the Chester United Baptist Church. Reception to follow.
Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
