Mr. Jewett Taylor Green, 99, of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Wednesday evening, March 2, 2011. Born at Ingalls Head he was the son of the late Ottawell and Nettie (Brown) Green. Mr. Green was a retired fisherman and carpenter, and worked with his brother Liscombe for over fifty years. He was a former member of the Knights of Pythias Southern Cross Lodge #16 of Grand Manan and a family member of the Grand Harbour Baptist Church. He enjoyed many hobbies but the one he liked the most was building replicas of local fishing boats and they can be found in many homes across Canada and the US. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Vera Mae (Somers) Green. Two daughters; Sheila Tate of Grand Harbour, Pamela Green (Norman), Freeport, NS. Two sons; Peter (Wanda) Green, Saint John and Roger (Wilma) Green of Castalia, Grand Manan, also survived by two brothers Oliver (Smiles) Green, and Liscombe (Virginia) Green of Grand Manan. Also twelve grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Green was predeceased by three sisters Viola, Nina, Verona, six brothers Gleason, Earle, Vinton, Donovon, Shelton and Perley. Also by one grandson Ronald Green.
Visiting will be held at Ells Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral service will be from the Grand Harbour Baptist Church on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 1:30pm with Rev.
