MOSHER, Donald Inglis - 74, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 11, 2011 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born and raised in Wolfville, Don was the younger son of the late John and Olivia (Lamont) Mosher. He graduated from Wolfville High School in 1954 and attended Acadia University. Don was manager of the Acadia University Book Store for over 25 years, where he provided excellent service to everyone in the Acadia community. Don was a Cub Master, a minor hockey organizer and a volunteer with Red Cross and Meals-on-Wheels. He devoted 34 years to the Wolfville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a founder of the Acadia Baseball Club. He was an avid supporter of both the Kentville Wildcats baseball and the Acadia Axemen hockey teams. Singing was a passion which led to decades in the Wolfville United Baptist Church choir. In 2004, Don was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship from the Rotary Club of Wolfville, where he had been an active member since 1973. Don co-founded the Atlantic Provinces Book Sellers Association and served as a director with the Canadian Book Sellers Association. When he moved to Kentville in 1997, he became involved with the North Kentville Recreation Association. Don is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn Chute, Berwick, whom he married in 1976. Father of Ian (Trish) Mosher, Wolfville and Monty (Eileen) Mosher, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Sam and Kate Mosher. Marilyn’s sons, who he helped to raise, Richard (Sherry) Arbic, Ottawa and Peter Arbic, Montreal; step-grandchildren, Vienna Arbic, Shane Andrews and Jason Andrews; sisters-in-law, Kimberley Chute, Seattle; Andrea (Edward) Leyton, Kingston, Ontario; Jessica Mosher, Boston; three nieces, Robyn, Pamela and Suzanne. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Ralph. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders officiating. Burial will take place in Wolfville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Red Cross Society.
