Ramona Maxine Gavel passed away in Moose Jaw, SK. on Wednesday, March 30th, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Ramona was raised in Battrum, SK. until the family moved to Swift Current where Ramona completed her schooling at the SCCI. She married Murray Gavel in 1950 and farmed beside him on their farm south of Waldeck at SE 4-16-12 W3M until their retirement in 1996. During Ramona’s working career she worked at the Swift Current Credit Union, Bank of Nova Scotia, Standard Motors and Raynard Equipment until 1986. They retired in 1996 and moved into Swift Current. In 2006 they moved to Moose Jaw and enjoyed living in Mulberry Estates. Ramona was predeceased by her husband Murray, of 60 years, in December of 2010. Ramona leaves to mourn, son, Lowell (Jeanette) and their children, Charlene (Daryl) and their family Tyler and Jenna; Craig (Laura) and their son Jordan, Ryan (Milissa) and their family Kai and Bauer; son, Laurie (Vicki) and their children Michelle (Jeff) and their son Evan, Melissa (Raf) and Ashley; son, Lindsay (Marion) and their children Kris and Scott; sister, Oriole Corlett; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Norman Hodgson; brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Adelaide Nygard; sister-in-law, Lorna (Karl) Ruf and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Doug Shepherd officiated. Memorial donations in Ramona’s memory may be made to the Dr. Noble Irwin Health Care Foundation, 2051 Saskatchewan Drive, Swift Current, SK. S9H 0X6 or to a charity of their choice.
