It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elwin Calvin Park announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the age of 70 years.  He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Elsie, children: Spencer (Patricia Penney), Mavis (Ivor Park) and Clay (Beverley Mullins), his grandchildren: Carly Park, Lucas Penney, and Erica Mullins, brothers: Austin (Linda) of Kitchener, ON, John (Mae) of Cox’s Cove, sisters: Sadie (Garfield Parsons) of McIvers, Teresa of Cox’s Cove, and Emma of Cox’s Cove, niece & nephew who grew up with him as siblings Alma (Bob Joyce) of Cox’s Cove and Bradley (Charlotte) of Cox’s Cove as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends, especially the Cox’s Cove Fire Department in which he served for over 25 years, brothers and sisters-in-law; Bernie (Mona) Barnes) of Rocky Harbour, Madonna (Henry Decker) of Rocky Harbour, Ada Park of Cox’s Cove, George Harris of Trout River and special aunt Emily Park of Cox’s Cove.  He is predeceased by his parents; Murdock & Nora, brother; Phillip Park, sister and brother-in-law; Goldie & Max Parsons, parents-in-law; Chesley & Mariam Barnes, and sister-in-law; Maisie Harris.  Thank you to all the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Western Meorial Regional Hospital and Dr. Rashleigh for making sure he was really taken care of and Dr. Aleykina.  Visitation will take place at St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove, NL on Sunday, April 3rd, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Monday, April 4th, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove on Tuesday, April 5th, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Joan Coles officiating.  As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.  The family guest book may be signed or memorial donations may be made by visiting our website at www.country-haven.ca.
