Joan (Gill) Sheppard

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Sheppard, nee Gill, at the Cove Guest Home, Sydney, NS on March 30, 2017. She was a much-loved aunt and sister who will be remembered as a considerate, kind person with a sunny disposition.
Born in Brigus, NL, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Frederick D. and Ida (Burnham) Gill. She resided most of her life in St. John's, NL and Louisbourg, NS. For her final years she was under the capable and kind care of the Cove Guest Home.
Joan is survived by one brother, Lee Gill, Charlottetown, PEI, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters, Mary, Margaret and Betty, and brothers, Burnham, Herbert, John, Clifford and Francis.
At her request, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place 1 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Stella Maris Church Cemetery, Louisbourg, NS.
