Margaret Vera "Peggy" Andrews

ANDREWS, Margaret Vera “Peggy” – 84, Truro, formerly of Dartmouth and Bass River, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Emily (Colburne) Lewis. Peggy loved being outdoors and enjoyed surrounding herself with nature in all seasons. In earlier years, she enjoyed snowmobiling, cross country skiing and always loved time spent at the cottage in Five Houses. After her husband George passed away, she was fortunate to meet Cecil Blair and they spent 25 years traveling North America and enjoying retirement life and their families. Peggy is survived by her children, Barry Andrews (Marlene), Vancouver, British Columbia; Debby Andrews, Windsor; Karyn Andrews (Brian), Truro; Richard Andrews (Kathy), Bryan Andrews (Diane), Ottawa, Ontario; daughter-in-law, Susan Andrews, Dartmouth; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; long-time partner, Cecil Blair, Moncton, New Brunswick. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, George Walter Andrews; youngest son, Bruce Russell Andrews. Peggy’s family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., in Riverside United Church, 5577 Highway 2, Bass River, Reverend Florence Antle-Brison officiating. Interment in Riverside United Church Cemetery. Reception will follow in MacFarlane Hall. If so desired, donations in Peggy’s memory to Riverside United Church Cemetery or Colchester-East Hants Hospice Society are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
