Leonard Percy Scott

SCOTT, Leonard Percy – 84, Truro Heights, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday evening, June 11, 2017, at home. Born in Westchester, he was a son of the late Stewart and Lizzie (Johnson) Scott. Leonard worked at Stanfield’s for over 40 years and was a charter member of Cobequid District Fire Brigade. He was known for his love of animals, especially horses, wit, humour and great big heart. He loved doing his crossword puzzles while sitting in his window while overlooking the “comings and goings” of Truro Heights. Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Erma Elaine (Hanf) Scott; sons, Tim (Susan) Scott, Irwin Lake; Sheldon (Connie) Scott, Truro Heights; grandsons, Christopher, Timothy (Kristiana); great grandsons, William, Caiden; step children, Crystal (Merle) Barr, Kemptville; Jean Ann MacCallum, Stellarton; Marlene (Chris) Harpell, Central North River; Angela (Allen) Naugler, Salem Loop; step grandchildren, Adrian (Megan), Hannah (Kristian), Clinton (Breanna), Tristan (Hailey), Sydney; step great granddaughter, Lilly; sister, Grace Patriquin, Pickering, Ontario; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Scott, Dora Scott, Springhill; several nieces & nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Martha Lily (Ash) Scott; sisters, Etta (Lionel) Rushton, Lois (Howard) Field; brothers, Charles, Fred, Alexander (Rhoma), John (Molly), Harold, James, Garnet, Norman; sisters-in-law, Marian Scott, Leona Scott. Leonard’s family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Cobequid District Fire Hall, 3830 Highway 236, Lower Truro. Interment to follow at Truro Heights Cemetery, 343 Truro Heights Road. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Leonard’s memory to Palliative Care Unit (Colchester East Hants Health Centre), Victorian Order of Nurses or Canadian Red Cross are welcomed.
