It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of David Alan Sharkey on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Guelph Ontario he was the son of the late Stanley Sharkey and Ethel Roberts.
Dave was employed as a Fire Fighter in Ontario until his retirement. Following his retirement Dave and his wife, Gail came to Glace Bay to help build and grow the Lighthouse Church with Dave Sawler.
Surviving is daughter, Nancy (Robert) Ronalds and Sherry Hachey; son, David Jr. (Kellyn); brothers, Stanley Jr., Earl and Don. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Gail.
There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home.
Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay with David Sawler officiating.
Donations may be made in Dave’s memory to the Lighthouse Church in Glace Bay.
