SAULNIER, Robert Donald “Bert” – age 69 of Yarmouth , N.S. passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on June 11, 2017. Born in Annapolis, N.S. on February 2, 1948 he was a son to Norma (Southern) Saulnier and the late Robert Saulnier. Robert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He worked at CFB Cornwallis until it closed in 1991. He was a 14 year member of the Yarmouth Legion Branch 61 and in his younger years enjoyed playing hockey, fishing and hunting. He was also an avid baseball fan always cheering for his Toronto Blue Jays. He had a great love for animals and fostered many rescue dogs of the years. He is survived by his wife, Pam Saulnier; daughters, Tina, Sherry and Chrissy; brother, Jerry (Pamela) Saulnier, Alberta; sister, Sharon (Steve) Scofield, Dartmouth; stepchildren, Paula and Cory Saulnier and several grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Wednesday June 14, 2017 from 7-9 P.M. with a Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 service at 7:30 P.M. all from Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 1 P.M. from Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A.D. Bill Newell officiated. Interment followed in Port Maitland/Beaver River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund. A reception followed the interment and was held at the Yarmouth Legion.
