Alexander "Wayne" Abram

Abram, Alexander “Wayne”, 74, Millbrook, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness on June 12, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Millbrook, he was the son of the late Alexander and Julia (Gloade) Abram. Wayne was devoted to serving First Nations Communities working with the Union of Nova Scotia Indians, Ulnooweg Development and serving 20 years as a Board Member of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre. He was an avid card player. He loved to travel taking road trips with his family. He also enjoyed a good meal and debate. His love of animals was well known. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda (Stone); daughters, Julia (Ron Dickinson) Abram, Mary Jane Abram, both of Millbrook; step-sister, Maxine Marr; aunts, Mary Jane (tte) Abram and Doris Abram; cousins, Lorraine (Paul) Varone, Thomas Abram, Timothy Abram, Alice Abram, Jean (Kevin) Abram, Alyssa Abram, Michael Abram, John Martin. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by uncles, Cyril, John; cousin, John Abram. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14 from 2-8 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Millbrook with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. A salite’ will follow the service and interment. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
