In Memory
Joyce Marguerite Quinn
September 13, 1942 – June 18, 2016
You left one year ago, but you are not gone
We think of you every day, at every dusk and every dawn.
Some of us carry you in a locket, a tiny heart keeping us safe when we roam
Some of us hear you in funny things you used to say, words you made all your own.
Some of us feel you in the songs you loved, hearing them can make us weep
Some of us see you in your furry friends, sad and confused without your company to keep.
Some of us see you in nature’s beauty, in purple flowers planted in a “J”
We see your smile, we hear your voice--singing, laughing, dancing away!
And though we now only have memories, to these we cling
And our hearts are full, remembering
And we know, like a butterfly, your fragile beauty is now free
There is no more pain for you, peaceful you can finally be.
We love you still, we love you forever, more than words can say
And with great sadness, but greater love, we think of you today.
