With great sadness, we, the family of Ronnie B. Lyle, announce his passing on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Tobin Road in Sydney Mines on November 29, 1946, he was the son of the late Walter and Elisie Lyle.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Sheila (Pero) Lyle; his loving sons, Ronald, Langelle (Wendy) and Paul (Adele), and his greatest joys, grandchildren, Brendan, Emily and Aaron. He is also survived by his brother, Elmer (Marguerite); sisters, Anna and Winnifred (Jack); sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Henny, Geraldine Lyle, Flo Pero and Zola MacIntosh; brother-in-law, Butch Pero (Patsy); nieces, Kerry Bond and Joanna Pero; his special friends, Theresa and Kevin MacNeil, and many more nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Ronnie was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret, Marion and Martha; brothers, Walter Albert, Alfred and Bill; brothers-in-law, Jack Hanlon, Joe MacLean, Jack Reid, Caddy Pero and Langelle Pero, and sisters-in-law, Norma Lyle, Doreen Lyle, Edna Simms, Colleen Chapman, Mamie Cousins and Audrey MacLeod.
Thank you to the staff of 3rd and 4th floors of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their exceptional care.
Ronnie’s family will receive visitors on Friday, June 16, 2017, at 10 a.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating.
Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronnie’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
