The family of Findlay Morrison is sad to announce the sudden passing of their beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend on June 14, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Findlay was born in Sydney, August 21, 1956 to Mavis and Donald A. Morrison.
Findlay is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Verola (Gallagher) Morrison and leaves behind his two sons, Brett (Megan), Brock (Janica); and his only daughter, Linnea. He is also survived by his brother, Clifford (Margaret-Ann) and sister, Shanna (Bossy) Lespere, Bermuda; as well as 21 nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by his father, Donald A. Morrison and mother-in-law, Gert Gallagher.
Findlay was a member of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service for 35 years. He was an amazing father who spent many years travelling to rinks and soccer fields watching his children. He loved to cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings surrounded by his kids and their friends. Findlay also enjoyed gardening. In his younger years, he played baseball and hockey and was a member of The Seaview Golf Club.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel Sunday June 18, 2017, 2-4 and 7-9.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River with Father Duaine Devereaux officiating.
Donations can be made in his memory to the Hospice Palliative Care Society or the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation.
