Peacefully and with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Laurena “Rena” Martin (Poirier) at Beach Grove Home, Thursday June 15, 2017 formerly of Tignish aged 90 years. Born in DeBlois, PEI on April 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Jane Poirier. Wife of the late Aubin Martin (dec. 2000) and loving mother of Clifford (Florence) Stratford, Angela McCallum (Sidney) Covehead, Bernadine DesRoches (Eric) York, Maurice (Theresa) Charlottetown, Sandra (Gary Gaudet) North Rustico, Carmen Halman (Robert) Fort Augustus and Michael (Karen) Tignish Shore. She is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored. Also survived by sister Stella Gaudet, Tignish, sisters-in-law Beatrice Martin, St Roch and Rita Perry, Maplewood Manor, Alberton. She was predeceased by her parents Pierre and Jane, husband Aubin, brothers and sisters Emma Doucette (Joseph), Henry Perry (Edna), Emelda Gaudet (Emmanuel), Albert Perry and darling granddaughter Phoebe McCallum. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Sunday evening 5-8 p.m. and Monday morning 9-9:45 a.m. Funeral will be held Monday June 19, 2017 at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant, Rev.
