Leslie Gordon Blagdon, of Coxheath, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in English Harbour, Nfld., he was the son of the late Albert John and Myrtle Blagdon.
Gordon was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas. He was employed at Coxheath Elementary School and also worked painting houses. He is survived by his daughters, Shirley (Bart) Connors, New Waterford and Judith (Donnie) Abbass, Sydney River; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Gordon was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Eunice; son, Gordie; brother, Hubert.
A funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Taigh Na Mara Nursing Home or the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
