Gertrude Anne Chaisson

At the MacLeod Care South Shore Villa, Crapaud on Friday, June 16, 2017 of Gertrude Anne Chaisson formerly of Borden-Carleton and Kinkora, aged 93 years. Born in Rollo Bay on March 10, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Chaisson and the late Catherine Ann Chaisson (nee McCormack). Gertie is predeceased by her husband, William Chaisson. She is survived by sons and daughters Bill (Milita), Bathurst, N.B.; Anne (Martin Duffy), Clyde River; Cathy (Ronnie Arsenault), Kinkora; Gerald (friend Pam), Kensington; Leo (Darlene), Borden-Carleton; Emmett (Sandra), Whitby, O.N. and Stephen, Saskatoon, S.K.; by grandchildren, David and Danny Chaisson; Erin, Kim, Kelly and Mark Duffy; Leanne and Shawn Arsenault and Maddie and Spencer Chaisson; beloved “Nanny Gert” to eight great grandchildren; brothers, Francis and Foncy, sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen, Katie, Pat, Sue and Eleanor Chaisson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she is predeceased by brothers, Johnnie, Andrew and sisters, Leona Doiron and Priscilla Campbell; sisters-in-law, Marguerite, Marie and Anne; brothers-in-law Charlie Doiron and Wally Campbell. Resting at Kinkora Place for Visiting hours on Wednesday, June 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, June 22 from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 22 at St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay at 10:30 a.m. with interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memorial donations in Gertie’s memory may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund, St. Malachy’s Church Maintenance Fund or a charity of your choice.
