SURETTE, John “Johnny” Amos – age 63, of Yarmouth, passed away at home on June 17, 2017. Born in Yarmouth on February 19, 1954, he was a son of the late John Amos Surette and Anne Rose (Surette) Hubbard. Johnny is survived by his children, John Raymond “Ray” (Jaime), Yarmouth; Carrie Surette (Jason), Melbourne; sisters, Linda Vacon, Irene Polson, Joan (Carl) Deveau, all of Yarmouth; Annette (Brian) Surette, Sluice Point; brothers, Bernie (Mary) Surette, Lower Sackville; Ken (Judy) Sims, Stellarton; David (Judy) Hubbard, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Britthany, Emily, Daniel and Saige and his best friend Ann Smith for the past 19 years, as well as the mother of his children, Marjorie Surette. Johnny was a great father, grandfather, and friend. He was fun-loving and loved life to the fullest. He was a great family man and was a hard-working man. He was employed with H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, the Grand Hotel, MacKenzie Security and Bay Ferries. Johnny loved to joke and he always put a smile on your face. Johnny was predeceased by his parents as well as by his step-father, Raymond "Chug" Hubbard and a sister, Sandra Muise. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A visitation was held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with prayers at 8 p.m. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, June 22 at 2 p.m. from H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, Rev. Mr. Stephen Bourque officiated. Burial was held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Forest Street, Yarmouth.
