Passed peacefully away with his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, Bob Mackey age 68 years. Predeceased by his parents Leo and Joan Mackey, brother Garry, grandchildren Dawson and Jessica Mackey, mother and father-in-law Abraham and Harriett Somers. Left with fond and loving memories his wife of 46 years Doris (nee Somers), 2 sons Sheldon (Sherry) and Corry (Trina), and his pride and joy, his two granddaughters Hailey and Laura; siblings Geraldine (Wins), Carol (Howard), Alice (Eric), John (Patricia), Philly (Phil), Dianne (Jim), Linda (Wally), Mike (Lisa) and Charlene (Jody); sisters and brothers-in-law Avis, Bernice, Yvonne, Jerry (Shirley), Art (Jessie), and his business partner and long-time friend Hayward Randall and staff of Kenmount Auto Body and Bob's fur buddy Jaxson. Also a large circle of family and friends who were by Bob's side during this long and difficult journey. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and at L.A. Miller Centre Palliative Care Unit. Bob loved his game of golf with his buddies and loved to travel. His love and commitment to his family was endless. We will miss his sense of humour and gentle heart that he shared with us with his Strawberry sundaes! He instilled in us great values, compassion and strength to carry on without him. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Friday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church. Cremation to follow. Inurnment to take place on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
