Melvin Conrad Reid of Chapel Arm, NL tragically passed away at his home on Monday, May 15, 2017 in Chapel Arm. He is predeceased by his parents Hector and Lillian Reid and three brothers Eric, Donald and Clinton. Mourned and survived by his wife Theresa, daughter Lisa (Joel), son Conrad (Maggie), grandson Hudson, two brothers Maxwell and Roderick, eight sisters Muriel, Olive, Evelyn, Gloria, Peggy, Iris, Daphne and Gail, their spouses and many other family members and friends. Our family was privileged to have him in our lives and blessed by his unrelenting hard work, generosity, kindness and love. Melvin was, among many things, a businessman for over 45 years, Electronics Instructor with NL Telephone, Supervisor of Communications of Microwave, Data Transmissions and Computers for QNS&L Railway. His 45 years commitment to voluntarism: Chairman, Local Development Assoc.; Avalon Health Care Institution, Disciplinary Panel of N & L Professional Engineers and among others. The Funeral Service was held on May 20, 2017 at 5pm at St. John the Baptist Church in Chapel Arm by Rev. Scott Windsor. We would like to extend a special thanks to him, all participants and Holloway's Funeral Home for caring for our beloved Melvin. We are deeply grateful to everyone for their thoughtful expressions of sympathy and their support of food and donations to the Children's Wish Foundation. Thank you to one and all for your visits to the funeral home and attendance at the service.

Melvin, Dad you left your footprints of kindness and love, courage and compassion, humor and inspiration. Even though you are gone, we can still look back and clearly see the trail they left behind, bright with hope that invites us to follow.
