Carol Shirley Hearabout

Carol Shirley Hearabout – 73, Truro. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Hearabout on June 27, 2017 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Carol was born in Truro on February 22, 1944 to the late Granville Murray Hearabout and Frances Isabelle (Lester) Hearabout. Carol was a member of the Brunswick Street United Church and the Brunswick Street UCW. In her early years, Carol cared for many young children and enjoyed visits from those families in the years after the children were grown. Carol was a huge fan of George Canyon and she and her sister Mary were able to see him perform and met him several times over the years. She also loved animals, especially dogs. Carol owned several over the years and after she had more pets, she always enjoyed people bringing their dogs along when they visited. Carol and her sister recently moved to Cedarstone Enhanced Care. She thoroughly enjoyed living there with all the lovely staff and many social activities. A big “thank you” to the staff at Cedarstone for your care. You are greatly appreciated. The family wishes to thank Cory Lunn, Colchester Community Funeral Home for his care and guidance at this time. Carol is survived by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Hearabout; several cousins, aunts and uncles. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Mary Alice Lester and paternal grandparents, John R. and Mary Ella Fraser. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30 from 1pm until time of Celebration of Life at 2pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. John Parsons officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will take place in Watson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA or to the United Church Mission and Service Fund.
