MICHAEL JAMES WALSH

Michael James Walsh, 60, of Glace Bay passed away suddenly with his brother, Kenny at his side in Sydney Mines.
Born in Ontario, he was the son of late William James Walsh and Carole Margaret (McLean) Walsh.
Michael was employed at Devco until he retired after many years of service. He was a man of faith who had a kind word for everyone. He loved to joke and make people laugh; he loved hockey and his team Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a kind hearted soul.
He will be missed by his brothers, Danny (Shauna), Sydney, Ron (Kim), Marion Bridge, Kenny (Monica Ann), Sydney Mines, Bradley (Angela), New Waterford; sisters, Theresa, Glace Bay, Carmel, Glace Bay, Nancy (Jamie) Whyte, Glace Bay, Rita (Owen) Hann, PEI; sons, Michael, Matthew and Daniel; grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Bill and Joe, his best friend and brother-in-law, Butch Dunn and brother-in-law, Blaise O’Brien.
Cremation has taken place as per Michael’s request. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist with Father Anthony O’Conner officiating. Reception to follow. Burial to take place in St. Anne’s Church Cemetery, Glace Bay.
