Ronald Arthur Jamieson

Jamieson, Ronald Arthur, 91, Truro. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ronald on Friday, June 30, 2017 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born October 15, 1925 in Fox Harbour, he was a son of the late Noble and Mabel (Cheetham) Jamieson formerly of North Wallace. Ron enjoyed music and sang in St. James Presbyterian Male Choir. He played the guitar and fiddle in a senior’s band. A member of St. James Presbyterian Church, he served as an Elder, and was a member of St. James Bible Study Group and also served on St. James Outreach Committee. He was a lobster fisherman and a carpenter, and was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Royal Canadian Army Military Police Unit until Armistice was signed.
He is survived by his wife Etta (Reid) Jamieson; step-daughter Bonnie Sutherland of Truro; brother Francis Jamieson (Carol) of Cape Breton; sister Joan Boucher ((Wayne) of New York; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Leonard and David; sister Betty Carter.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street. No visitation by family request. Family flowers only. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 19th at 11 am, in The Falls Cemetery, The Falls, with Reverend Clair MacLeod officiating. Donations in Ronald’s memory may be made to St. James Presbyterian Church, Truro. A special thank you to the V.O.N. Home Care, Dr. Trevor Locke and Dr. Courtney Smith and staff of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, for all their care.
