Born: November 17th, 1943

Passed on: July 3rd, 2017

Passed peacefully away at Pleasantview Towers, in the arms of his loving daughters, Vincent Pomroy, formerly of Dunville, Placentia Bay. After a ten-year battle with dementia, he is finally reunited with his wife Rosemarie (nee Dray), his parents Patrick and Nellie Pomroy, his step-mother Angela Pomroy, his brother Gabe, his brothers-in-law Anthony Dray, Dominic Dray, and Peter White and his sisters-in-law Cathy Dray and Mary Dray. He will be forever remembered and treasured by his daughters Nina (Frank) Healey and Carol Anne (Neal) Saunders, and his granddaughters Frankie and Madison Healey. Vince also leaves to mourn his brothers Rod (Mathilda) and Carter (Reet) Pomroy, his sisters Theresa (Tom) Leonard, Viola (Art) Pink, Madonna, Angela (Gary) Hodgkinson and sister-in-law Rosemarie Pomroy (Elmo), step-brother Joe (Diane) Byrd, step-sisters Madonna (Dominic) Fitzgerald, Christine (Kevin) King, Hilda Byrde, Angela (Majed) Khraishi, Bernadette (Wade) Bowers, brothers-in-law Joe (Blanche) Dray, Willie Jim (Blanche) Dray, Eugene (Donna) Dray, Dennis Dray, sisters-in-law Mary Jo White, Helena (Pat) Power, Marie (Kevin) Dobbin, Sandra Dray and Lucy Dray. He also leaves behind a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dad was a gentle, hard-working man who was a friend to everyone he met. He loved to play the accordion and the guitar and sing. He could keep in step to the music right until the very end of his life. He had a kind word to say about everyone. Although his mind was ravaged with dementia, he kept his sense of humor and loved to joke around and have a laugh. He was so well taken care of during his stay on 1 Southwest at Pleasantview Towers and the kindness shown to him, and to us, on a daily basis by the staff there will never be forgotten. You are living proof that there are truly angels among us. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday from 7-9 pm, and Friday from 12-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 11 am on Saturday, July 8th at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia. Flowers or donations to a charity of one's choice are welcome. The most fitting tribute to Dad, however, would be for you to spend time with your parents and loved ones if you're fortunate enough to have them. Visit your nearest Seniors Home and spend some time with the many residents who have no one to visit them. To leave a message of condolence, please visit www.mahersfuneralhome.ca.
