It is with great sadness that the family of the late Al Matthews announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 61 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Donna (nee Quinton), children: Kelly and Ian (Gabby); stepchildren: Johnathan (Samantha) and Matthew (Sarah); his mother, Mrs. Margaret Matthews; brothers: Harold (Marilyn), Ray (Alma), Dave (Michelle) and Art (Rose); sisters: Marjorie, Marilyn (Howard) Stanford, Violet and Carol (Ike) Anderson; father and mother-in-law: William and Cora Quinton; brother-in-law Derek (Kim) Quinton; as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his father Otto Matthews. Granting his wishes, cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11th at 2: PM from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive with Reverend Jennifer Renouf officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
