Florence ‘Lora’ MacAdam, daughter of the late John and Catherine Morrison was born in Cape Breton County near North Sydney on August 28, 1917. She passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 just a few weeks short of her 100th birthday.

She was always interested in community matters; she served as president of the Business and Profession Women’s Club and was a member of the Board of Directors at the Sydney Credit Union.
Lora, being very sociable, loved to play bridge and she did so even until recently. She also loved to cook and was an avid gardener. Even in her last days, she was curious about world affairs and what was happening in the local community.
Lora is survived by three daughters, Natia DiVincenti, Leone (Rod) MacAdam and Rose (Richard) Cook; three grandchildren, Katie Rayburn, Andrew Cook and Alexis DiVincenti, as well as three great grandchildren, Nathan Rayburn and Patrick and Colin Cook.
