Broughton, Emma Jeannette, 95 of Westchester/Truro passed away peacefully on July 12, 2017 at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Malagash, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elida (Miller) Wilson. Emma was a devoted wife and mother and caregiver to: brother in- law William (Bill) Broughton during his illness; her mother in-law Bessie; sister in- law Vera (Dixon) and her parents. Emma enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, dancing and bowling.
She is survived by her sister Mavis Newcombe, daughters Bessie (Lawson )Thompson, Westchester, Avis (Wesley) Austin, BC, sons Hubert (Annie) Truro, Philip(Cheryl), Westchester, nephew Brian(Karen) Broughton, Moncton, ten grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband (Oran), sister Dorothy and brother in- law William (Bill), brother Donald, sister in- law Dorothy (Grant)Wilson, brother in-law Leigh Newcombe and nephew Kenneth Broughton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation by family request. A family graveside service will be held in Eagle Hill Cemetery, Westchester Station, NS.
