GOUDEY, Berwyn Andrews (Skip) – age 83 of Arcadia passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2017. Born in Yarmouth on November 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Berwyn Carey Goudey and Laura (Andrews) Goudey. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Audrey (Trask) Goudey, their daughter Cindy Trask, her husband Brian, and two grandchildren Andrew Trask and Melissa Trask. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Mark Goudey and his brother Michael Goudey. Skip had a strong work ethic and a creative mindset and his career took him from Toronto, to Halifax and finally back to Yarmouth where he was employed at Moloney Electric, Engineering Service Co., Rodney Contractors Ltd., and Nova Scotia Community College: Burridge Campus, respectively. He was a past member of the Yarmouth Industrial Commission and past president of the Yarmouth Board of Trade, working with both organizations for the betterment of Yarmouth and the surrounding area. After his official retirement from teaching, he worked as a consultant on construction/design projects across the province and was still actively involved in designing 3D architecture software at the time of his death. During his early youth, Skip was an avid athlete and excelled at swimming and basketball. He had a life-long passion for the ocean and “messing around on boats.” He pursued many hobbies and interests and was a certified marksman, a scuba diver, an accomplished photographer, Ham Radio operator and model airplane enthusiast. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Celebration of Skip's life was held Wednesday July 19, 2017 at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment was in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. A reception followed at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Community Hall (61 William Street) all were welcomed.
