Alice Grace Edwards

With sadness, we, the family of Alice Grace Edwards, regret to announce her passing on Monday, July 17, 2017.
Born in Alba Station, Inverness Co., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sadie Belle (MacKay) MacDonald.
Alice was a graduate of Grace Maternity Hospital, Halifax. She worked most of her career as a registered nurse in neo-natal at St. Rita’s Hospital, Sydney. She also was a very active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sydney and a member of the John Geddes Society.
Alice is survived by her only daughter, Marilyn Anne (Rolly Levesque) MacDonald, Lower Argyle, Yarmouth Co.; Tom (Janet) Coffin, Lower Sackville, and goddaughter, Janet (Peter Dewar) Pittman, Kentville.
She was predeceased by her husband, George (1998). The last surviving member of her immediate family, Alice was predeceased by her sisters, Anna Fourtunato, Catherine MacDonald and a sister in infancy, and brothers, Gordon and Murdoch.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 20 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jean MacAulay officiating. Interment in Estmere Cemetery for family only.
Memorials may be made to the Canadian Bible Society or the Atlantic Mission Society.
