GOODWIN, Kempton Melford – 74, Bear Point, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on July 14, 2017, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Cecil and Myrtle (Nickerson) Goodwin. Kempton was a retired fisherman. He enjoyed the outdoors and the wildlife. His favourite pastimes were working in his vegetable garden and taking day trips, chatting with anyone along the way. He also enjoyed watching the deer and rabbits, viewing yard sales, hearing about David’s work activities and the talks with Edward and friends. Also his special mother-in-law, Pauline’s humour and tasty baking were always appreciated. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Atwood; step-son, Jason (Charlene) Atwood; step-grandson, Emmett Atwood, Halifax; brother, Edward (Ellen) Goodwin, North East Point; nephew, David Goodwin; and mother-in-law, Pauline Atwood. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Barrington. There will be no visitation as Kempton requested.
