It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Agnes ‘Mamie’ Peterson of Sydney at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on July 20, 2017.
Born July 18, 1928 in Ingonish to George and Bridget (Whitty) Barron.
Mamie is survived by her son, Billy (Maureen) and daughter, Beverley. Also surviving is her sister, Delores Peters; brother, Sanford ‘Gussie’ Barron and three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald; stepson, Michael; seven brothers, Percy, Nick, Leo, Sylvester, Walter, Eugene, Irvine; a brother in infancy and two sisters, Catherine ‘Kay’ and Isabel.
Mamie held a special place in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Theresa’s Church with Fr. Dennis Lamey officiating. Interment to be held at a later date in Ingonish.
