Alice M. Kerwin (née White) passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, July 16, 2017 at her home in Niceville, Florida. Alice was born in Stephenville, NL on September 17, 1940, her mother’s birthday, and was the youngest daughter of Theresa (née Schumph) and James White. She was a proud dual citizen of both Canada and the United States and worked as a teacher in both countries. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Alice leaves behind her devoted husband of 42 years, Joe (“Joe the Newf”); daughter Julie (Chris), grandsons Coleman and Bennett Cumby; granddaughter Ellie Olszewski-Cumby; brother Ronald (Sandra) White; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is predeceased in death by her parents, sister Sylvia Riling, and brothers Lawrence and Bernard White.
A memorial mass celebrating Alice’s life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Niceville, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stephenville Theatre Festival.
