JOSEPH ANGUS MACDONALD

Joseph Angus MacDonald passed away peacefully July 19, 2017. He was 76 years old.
Joe travelled for many years across Canada and the USA. Joe was a well-respected horseman. He trained horses, his own and others, and they often made it to the Winners Circle! After many years away, Joe returned home, to be with his mom and family. He loved company and a good game of cards. We enjoyed listening to the stories of his travelling experiences. Joe loved animals but especially his loyal dog, Jack, who was his constant companion. We, his family, will miss him dearly.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Duncan Alexander and Mary Ann (Thomas)MacDonald; his sister, Stella, and brothers, Gordon and Cyril.
He is survived by brothers, Colin, John T. (Diane), and Hugh (Charlene); sisters, Joan MacLean, Anne Marie Gillis, Bernadette Gauthier (Lucien), Helen Nelson (Chuck), Margie Mullins, Elaine Fischer (Dave) and Mary Clare Langer (Peter). He is also survived by Aunt, Nanna Gillis; his mother’s sister; and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, located at 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, Fr. Bill Burke officiating.
