CROWELL, Jean Seymour – 88, Bear Point, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on July 24, 2017, with her family by her side. Born, September 5, 1928, in Clam Point, she was the daughter of the late William and Luella (Ross) Stewart. She married Freeland Crowell of Bear Point in 1948 and they recently celebrated their 69th anniversary. Jean loved to knit and crochet. She also quilted and gifted her children and grandchildren with them. Jean was very active in the Bear Point Advent Christian Church and sang for many years in the choir. She enjoyed spending time at their cottage on the Clyde River and Friday evening outings with family members at local restaurants, looking for deer and playing Rook afterwards. Surviving are her husband, Freeland; her children, Brian (Gerilyn) and Wanda, her grandchildren, Corey (Sarah), Erin (Neil), Jason and Kristen (Michael), great-grandchildren, Dustin, Andrew, Katelyn, Dakota, Angelina and Christopher. She is also survived by siblings, Robie, Barbara and Larry. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by siblings, Ralston, Joyce and Gloria. Special thanks to Dr. d’Eon, Dr. Weltlen and the nurses on the Third Floor South at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. There was a visitation held Friday, from 7 to 9 pm at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service was 2 pm, Saturday, July 29, at H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Rev. Alvin McComiskey and Pastor Luuk Geerligs officiating. It has been requested there be family flowers only; in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
