(Jennie) Madeline Bennett (nee Sutherland). Born July 17, 1919 passed away so very gently on July 21, 2017 at age 98, at Hillsdale Estates (Trillium Trail) in Oshawa. Madeline was predeceased by her beloved husband William Clifton Bennett (Cliff, 2002). Precious mom to son Gary (Glenda). Cherished Gramma to Zachary (Leeann) and Brynn (Elizabeth) and her many great grandchildren. Madeline was born in Economy, Nova Scotia to a large Sutherland family, Madeline lived and worked in Ontario for most of her adult life until they relocated to Hilden, NS in 1981. She was a lifelong member of the United Church and proudly active with the UCW. Cremation has taken place and we will be taking Madeline home to NS to join her beloved Cliff. A very special thanks to the amazing staff of Trillium Trail at Hillsdale Estates who made sure Madeline's last 5 years were happy and safe. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 2 at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. If so desired, donations celebrating Madeline’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
