It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elma Butler announce her passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre on Sunday July 30th, 2017 at the age of 94 years. She will be sadly missed by her son Dave (Dale) in Stephenville, daughters Cavell (Derek) Knott in Stephenville and Marilyn (Ronald) Sheppard in Bishop's Falls, her sister Peggy Peterson in Stephenville, six grandchildren: Mark, Ryan, Linda, Damien, Dean and David, four great-grandchildren: Devon, Frasier, Alexander and Quinn along with a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon, her sister Sybil Pelley and brothers Raymond and Leslie Morris. Elma was a dedicated church organist, giving more than 50 years of voluntary service to the First United Church in Stephenville. The family will be receiving friends at Russell's Funeral Home in Stephenville on Tuesday August 1st, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday August 2nd, 2017 at 2 pm from the First United Church, St. Clare Avenue in Stephenville with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Church Building Fund in Stephenville or the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing.
