At the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 of Brian Joseph Avery of Johnston’s River, age 68 years. Beloved husband of Freda Avery (nee Gill) and loving father of Sonya McCaughey (Philip), Lisa Johnston (Darcy), Brad Avery (Jennifer), and Kirk Avery (Ellen Gormley). Brian will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren - James and Egan McCaughey, Ferris and Emery Johnston and Sophia Avery and siblings Aletha (Richard - deceased) Mullally , Barb (Dennis) Boudreau, Nora (Claude) Maltais, Norman (Marion) Avery , Martin (Earla) Avery, Donald (Catherine) Avery, Robert Avery, John (Betty) Avery, Marie (Ricky - deceased) Duncan, Kent (Terri) Avery, Michael (Theresa) Avery, and Theresa (Frank) McPhee . He was predeceased by his son Anthony (in infancy), parents Ernest and Elizabeth (Rose) Avery, and parents-in-law Bill and Helen Gill. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, August 4, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Church, Fort Augustus at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Ryan Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Mt. Ryan Cemetery would be appreciated. The Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service prior to visitation at 6:30 p.m. Due to allergies please refrain from wearing scents.
