Wyman Hiltz Yuill

YUILL, Wyman Hiltz – 94, Beaver Brook, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Beaver Brook, he was a son of the the late Frank and Ina (Burgess ) Yuill. Wyman is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eileen Jean (Frazee) Yuill; children, John Albert (Bonnie) Yuill, Marjorie Anne (Wilfred) Pierce, Shelley Jean (Ricky) Fisher and James Wyman (Patricia) Yuill; grandchildren, Kenneth Pierce, Anthony Yuill, Amy (Yuill) Hanson, Rhea (Fisher) Hannam, Brad Fisher, David Yuill, Darryl Yuill and Sandra (Yuill) Gibson; great-grandchildren, Logan, Kennedy, Owen, Liam, Matthew, Lainey, Casey; one great grandson on the way. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son, David Frank Yuill; grandson, Douglas James Pierce; brother, Reid Yuill. Wyman started hauling logs with horses at age 15 and gradually took over the family farm. After a while he started truck driving and hauled logs for a family sawmill and later for C. E. Crowe Lumber Co. and eventually for Brookfield Lumber Co. Later, Wyman and his brother, Reid bought out Baileys Transfer Co. and hauled milk to Modern City Dairy, Sydney for 10 years. After that he decided to set up a small sawmill which he operated for 16 years until he retired. He also enjoyed several car trips traveling across Canada and the United States to the west coast and back. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Wyman’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017, and funeral service 2 p.m., Monday, August 7, 2017, The Reverend Lori Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Clifton Anglican Cemetery, Beaver Brook. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations to St. John's Clifton Anglican Cemetery or charity of choice are welcomed.
