It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roy Oke announce his passing on Thursday, August 4, 2017 at Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 91 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Roy Oke Jr. (Mary), Paula (Larry) Price and Annamarie Oke; grandchildren: Amy (Rob), Paul (Lori), David (Jesica), Laura (Phillip), Justin (Jennifer), Jordan (Kyra) and Jonathon (Victoria); 12 great-grandchildren; sister Alice; brother Robert; sisters-in-law: Augusta, Ferne (Gordon) and Margaret (Fred); brothers-in-law: William, Edward (Shirley), Eric (Inez) and Byrce (Monica); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Penney), November 21, 2014, daughter Wanda Garcin, May 21, 1992, parents Hubert S. and Queenie Oke. A special thank you to Doctors, Nurses and staff of the Corner Brook Long Term Care 4 North. Cremation has taken place as per Roy's request. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 7 at 2 p.m. from All Saints' Anglican Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital.
