The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Sunday, August 6th, 2017 of Peter Wilfred Poirier of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 75 years. Peter was born in Summerside to the late Edward and Alice (nee Downing) Poirier. Beloved husband of Andrea Poirier and loving father of Rose (Kevin) Simpson, Cindy (Paul) Clark, James (Joy) and Steven (Jackie). Also lovingly remembered by his 7 grandchildren Angela, Heather, Justin, Phillip, Jordan, Jessica and Sara. Survived by his brothers and sister Bob (Pauline), Fran Sharkey, Mark, John (Louise) and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his sister Mae (Ernie) O’Brien and brother in-law Bob Sharkey. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. A Private Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Peter’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Parkinson Society would be greatly appreciated.
