Donald Theodore ‘Ted’ Budden

Donald ‘Ted’ Budden, age 71, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Gordon and Margie (MacDonald) Budden.
Donald worked for Devco Training Dept., teaching first aid and CPR until he retired in 1995. He was also one of the founders of the Industrial Amputees Association in the early 1970’s. Donald was also a member of St. John Ambulance and the Loch Lomond Fire Dept. for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Romona (Aucoin) Budden; son, Mark (Nancy); daughter, Julianne (Roddie) MacNeil; sisters, Ave Rongone and Mickey (Chris) Caldwell, and brothers, John (Corinne), Gordie (Janet), Lorne (Pauline) and Billy.
Also surviving are Donald’s, daughter-in-law, Darlene Budden; brothers-in-law, Mike (Marie) Aucoin, Blaine Aucoin and Gordon Poth; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his son, Donald; brother, Brian; brother-in-law, Ed Rongone; sister-in-law, Geri Poth; mother and father-in-law, Joe and Dell Aucoin, and a nephew, Michael Aucoin.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Dan Boudreau is Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines followed by interment in the parish cemetery. All are invited to join the family for a reception at the Reserve Mines Pensioners Club.
