Edward ‘Wayne’ Costie, 61, of Bedford, formerly of Westmount, Cape Breton passed away suddenly on Aug. 3, 2009.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Edward Costie and Elizabeth (Hall) Costie. Wayne worked for Sydney Steel Corporation up until his retirement in 1999. Wayne had too many friends to mention and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and also by his camping buddies at Evangeline Campground, as well as Sophie, his faithful pet.
Left to mourn are his loving wife and best friend, Dianne (Moores), Bedford; daughter, Wanda (Robin) McKenna, Tantallon; son, Tony (Mary Lynne) Costie, Carbonear, N.L.; Papa’s special boy, Zachery and special girl, Brooklyn; his mother, Elizabeth, Halifax; brother, Stephen; sister, Linda, both of Halifax.
Besides his father, Wayne was predeceased by sisters, Sharon and Marilyn.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. from Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Burial will be held at a later date.
Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
