POIRIER, James- Peacefully at Cornwall Hospice on Thursday August 10, 2017. James Robert Poirier of Cornwall; age 51 years. Loving husband, soul mate and best friend of Debbie Poirier (nee Kerr). Dear brother of Debbie Derochie (Joe). Cherished uncle and best friend of Jeffrey Derochie (Brenda) and Godfather to their children Jameason and Jaxson Derochie. Loving uncle of Jenna Yuill (Cory) and their children Danica and Jesse Yuill. Survived by his brother Jean Paul Poirier (Lucie) and their children Jean Marc and Daniel Poirier. Also survived by his mother in law Rita Kerr (late Fred), and brother in law Fred Kerr Jr. (Nicole). Predeceased by his parents the late Harvey Poirier and the late Fernande Poirier (nee Lapierre). James will be sadly missed by chosen brother and dear friend Barry Thompson (Brenda). Until the end, James wanted everyone to smile and laugh, and most of all " Stay off the Snirt". The family will be in attendance at LAHAIE & SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES WEST BRANCH 20 Seventh Street West Cornwall (613-932-8482) from 7 P.M. Monday. A Service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 11 A.M. Inurnment, St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery. The family will be in attendance from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. on Monday and Tuesday from 10 A.M until the time of Service.
